Cuadro La Tempestad Spring Concert Series Del Espadin Flamenco & Spanish Dance Academy, the proud sponsors of the Houston
Flamenco Festival, are pleased to announce the Cuadro La Tempestad Spring Concert Series!
In contrast to today's
highly choreographed and much rehearsed flamenco, Cuadro La Tempestad treats audiences to the experience of creativity in
the moment. This dynamic group of flamenco artists have traveled to Spain to study with the legends of flamenco and
strive to convey all the spontaneity and intensity of a genuine gypsy "juerga".
Watch this
traditional form of flamenco explode through live guitar and dance company performance as seen at Houston Press' Artopia and
on Great Day Houston with Debra Duncan. Led by acclaimed flamenco dancer, Tempestad, Cuadro invokes the classic spirit of
Andalucia, Spain with fiery creativity and passionate movement. This
year's series will include three unique performances hosted at 14 Pews in the Heights: Corazon Gitano - Saturday, March 5th Al-Andaluz
- Saturday, April 30th Espana - Nord y Sud
- Saturday, May 21st Location: 14 Pews 800 Aurora Houston,
Texas 77009 Refreshments and reception to follow each performance. Season Ticket Price (includes all
three performances) $37.00 Individual performance ticket price $15.00

Cuadro La Tempestad presents the age-old traditions of flamenco with unparalleled authenticity. With fiery
and explosive dancing, no-frills "jondo" singing and passionate guitar playing, the Cuadro allows audiences to experience
the dark and unique essence of true "duende".
Now in its second year, Cuadro La Tempestad has
enjoyed such accolades & recognition such as a Certificate of Appreciation from the Mayor for its performances at IFest,
appearances at the Bayou City Arts Festival, headliners at Houston Press' Artopia 2010 & 2011, special invitation to perform
at the 2009 Consular Ball honoring the Kingdom of Spain, & a special appearance on Great Day Houston with Debra Duncan.
"La Tempestad, meaning the storm, has been tearing up the flamenco floor night after night..."
